Joshua comes from Shan State, where the civil war has been severe. His family left their village to seek hospital care for his father, who passed away from kidney disease in 2024. When they returned, the village no longer had a school or many of the things that had once been there. His older brother and younger sister remain at home with his mother, while Joshua came to live with us at Zion House. He enjoys playing soccer with the other children and hopes to become a school teacher one day.
