His dad died making charcoal. He and his grandma lived in a camp with his siblings because of civil war in their village. His grandma is getting old and cannot take care of all of them so he and his sister (Mran Cia Bauk) were sent here for better living conditions and a better education. He wants to become a pastor and enjoys studying English.
